Lekotek has many special family events in the community throughout the year. Here's a look at what's coming up in 2023. Details about each event are below. Please call our office at 404-633-3430 to get more information. Registration for each event can be found on our event sign up page.

Family Park Play Date
Join other Lekotek families for an afternoon of fun at the park! The park has beautiful, paved trails, adapted swings, and bathrooms on site. Use McDaniel Farm Road entrance to get to our reserved shelter.

Easter Egg Hunt
Join your Lekotek friends for an accessible egg hunt! Our goal is to provide an environment where every child will be successful at finding eggs! We'll also have several activity stations available for the kids while they wait for the egg hunt to begin!
When: April 12, 2025
Where: Cobb and Southside offices.

Zoo Day
Lekotek is going to the zoo! Lekotek families can enjoy a day at the Atlanta Zoo.
When: May 3, 2025.
Tickets: Please RSVP to Lekotek at 404-633-3430.
Tickets will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. (Immediate family only; additional tickets may be purchased at the zoo for friends or extended family.) Children 2 years and younger don't need a ticket.
Freedom Waters Boat Outing
Lekotek has partnered with Freedom Waters Foundation who partners with local private & commercial boat owners to provide therapeutic boat outings for those who may not otherwise have an opportunity to be on a boat. After the boat ride, there will be live music, BBQ, and tons of fun!

Rafting
We have partnered with The National Park Service to offer a rafting experience for Lekotek families at Sibley Pond/Sope Creek entrance of Chattahooche River National Recreation area. One to two families will share a raft and paddle around the pond! This is a small shallow pond, perfect for a beginning experience in a raft. No Charge! RSVP is required. Limited spaces are available.

Pumpkin Patch
All Lekotek families are welcome to have fun at the Pumpkin Patch! You can go on a hayride, pet the animals, eat good food, and make some arts and crafts. Best of all you can pick your pumpkin!

Halloween Party
Join your Lekotek friends and AMS Vans for a fun Halloween Party. Families will enter our One-Way Trick or Treat Trail. We'll have some fun accessible activities with treats and prizes and fun things to see along the trail --and of course, you're Lekotek staff will be dressed up ready for some fun. You can come in costume, or as you are. Registration is required. We can't wait to see you there!

Pictures with Santa Party
All Lekotek families are welcome to come see Santa and get your picture taken. We will have some fun too. There will be a few fun activities and crafts for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to register so Santa knows how many presents to bring!

Holiday Party
Join your Lekotek and FOCUS friends at our annual Holiday Party! There will be lots of fun activities including games, crafts, music, and more! We will not have our potluck dinner this year, but will have a pre-packaged snack and drinks available for attendees. Of course, what holiday party would be complete without a visit from Santa? Santa will have a small gift for all children present.
