Lekotek Run 2008

The 16th Annual Lekotek Run will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2008.  This year's race is part of the Run & See Georgia series.  Join us for an exciting morning of events to benefit Lekotek of Georgia.  Please click on the links below to learn more.

Course

Scenic 4-mile loop (and 1-mile fun run) will start and finish at Georgia Perimeter College Dunwoody Campus, I-285 and North Peachtree Rd., 2101 Womack Road.  (Click here for driving directions on the Georgia Perimeter College Web site.)  The course takes the following route:

  • Start at the Guard House

  • Left onto Womack

  • Left onto Summerford

  • Left onto Springfield Dr.

  • Left onto Conover

  • Right onto Womack

  • Right onto Tilly Mill for 100 yards

  • Right into the campus

A judged 4-mile racewalk will be part of this year's festivities.  Participants must be familiar with the two rules of racwalking and use legal racewalking technique during the event to be eligible for awards.  Racewalkers must wear shorts or solid color tights so that the knees are visible to the racewalk judges.  All racewalk entrants must report to the Walking Club of Georgia table to receive their packets.

Strollers and baby joggers are permitted in both events.

Registration and Entry Fees

You can register on-line, by mail, or in-person on race day:

  • On-line registration

  • Mail registration

    • Click here to go to the registration form.  Print the form and and mail it to Lekotek at the address given on the form.

    • $15.00 entry fee if received by September 1st; $18.00 if received after September 1st.  (Children under 12 years pay the dollar amount of their age regardless of registration date.)
       

  • Race-day registration (September 6)

    • Starts at 7:00 a.m.

    • $18.00 entry fee  (Children under 12 years pay the dollar amount of their age.)

Race numbers will be distributed on race day.

Corporate Teams

Register as a corporate team and show your company's support for our community.  The race is a great team-building activity.  A prize will be given to the largest corporate team.  Click here to go to the corporate entry form (pdf file, 719 KB).  Print the form and mail it to Lekotek at the address given on the form.

Awards

Four Mile Run Awards:  First overall male and female and first four-mile finishers and master's finishers; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in each age group, male and female divisions.  Age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over.

Four Mile Racewalk Awards:  Prizes for Racewalk winners will be presented to the first male and female overall, and the top three male and female finishers in the following age categories: 34 and under, 35-44, 45-54, 55 and over.

One Mile Awards:  1st, 2nd and 3rd overall (male and female) finishers in 1 mile race and wheelchair division.

T-Shirts
100% cotton long sleeve T-shirt to all participants. Only pre-registered runners guaranteed a T-shirt on race day.
