Summer Computer CampComputer camper Rahul and volunteer playing computer games

Lekotek provides a unique summer experience for children with disabilities, their siblings and/or friends.  Using diverse software and input devices, children benefit from independent and group participation.

Camp offers a break from the "therapy" routine.  Campers experience fun-filled, challenging activities that develop literacy, communication, fine motor, cognitive, and recreational abilities.  Children with and without disabilities play and learn together in an environment that facilitates success.

Please discuss whether camp is appropriate for your child with your Lekotek Leader prior to registration. Many children experience sensory overload when participating in large groups. Camp is most appropriate for a child who can attend to the computer for at least 15 to 20 minute periods.

Read below to learn more about Computer Camp or download the 2011 Camp brochure.

What types of activities do children do at camp?

The daily schedule at Computer Camp includes the following:
• Individual computer activities
• Peer interaction and socialization
• Group activities
• Music
• Special guests

Software themes include art, music, stories, games, and problem solving.
Each computer station is supervised by a Lekotek staff member and two trained volunteers.
